Anpé Atelier Cph – About the Designer
A trip to Sri Lanka in 2015 made such a big impact on former lawyer, Line Jacobsen that the idea of founding a jewellery company began to take its baby steps in her mind. Inspired by the eminent colourful lifestyle from houses, spices and textiles to colourful temples, mosques, markets and nature she had witnessed in Sri Lanka, Line realised the dream and founded Anpé Atelier Cph in 2017.
”I fell completely in love with Sri Lanka’s colourful take on life” line explains to The Jewellery Room. The source of inspiration is noticeable in Anpé Atelier’s collection as all Line’s designs are small treasures in a wide colour palette.
“I’ve always had a passion for creativity, fashion and the creation of beautiful things. It never stops to amaze me the wonders the Earth can bring us in form of natural gemstones. No two gemstones are alike, and everyone has its own story to tell. This is why I only work with natural gemstones. I like that fine jewellery is sustainable in the sense that it can exist forever and can be passed on through generations. That a piece of jewellery very often has a story and a very special meaning,“ Line continues.
Even though Line practised law for almost 8 years there was always a creative nerve and spark in her that couldn’t be invoked working as a lawyer. Her mission with Anpé Atelier was to fuse the colourful and magical East with the minimalistic North. All the jewellery designs in Anpé Atelier’s collections are designed by Line herself. Her source of inspiration in the creative process is often rooted in the colour splash of the Sri Lankan culture, which is so different from the Scandinavian. As a result, the name Anpé Atelier Cph mixes Sinhala and Scandinavia joined together by the colourful, magical little artworks that is the jewellery.
